What is a rules based index?

GIG's team members were one of the first to develop global ETF(s) and are seeking to develop Exchange Traded Product (funds, notes, etc.) and introduce them into the European, American and Asian markets. We look specifically at niche sectors of the markets that would benefit most from the more liquid, transparent and efficient usage of a UCITS 3 structure.

RULES BASED INDEXING
GIG will be at the forefront of rules-based indexes created to more accurately reflect underlying market segments, overlays or regions that we look to capture. A rules based index is an investment strategies with a transparent objective set of rules based on characteristics other than market capitalization; for example, an index of a region with an overlay for trailing five year sales or growth dividends.
